I just adore this book because of the talents of the author and seeing previous people from the earlier books. You must read this to find out if Wade and Tabby get their happy ever after. Logan Meadows, Wyoming Territory, October is the setting for this novel. Tabitha Canterbury is a year independent business owner of the Storybook Lodge who is determined to make it on her own.

As the two skirt around getting to know one another the ques from one another make it hard to believe they will ever be friends at all. When Hunter makes a decision to bring an act to town to drum up revenue for the saloon, it may be the breaking point of the strained friendship.
In this opposites attracts loves story, everything is old west proper. I did however miss what happened to one of the young men in the book, Jake but believe it maybe because he will be the topic of another book in this series. This book is appropriate for all ages. I would recommend it to anyone wanted to read a darling love story with happy ending.
I received a FREE copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Jul 10, Heather rated it really liked it Shelves: series-i-want-to-continue , reviewed , librarian-as-heroine. Having read several of the books in this series I was excited for a chance to catch up with the folks in Logans Meadow and meet a few new additions to the town.
From an early age, Tabitha has always wanted to open a bookstore. In order to do so however, she has left her hometown to get the needed independence from her parents. Determined to make a success of her store, Tabitha is convinced that she will remain a spinster but she will have her bookstore!
But seeing all of her friends settle down Having read several of the books in this series I was excited for a chance to catch up with the folks in Logans Meadow and meet a few new additions to the town. But seeing all of her friends settle down is making the idea of spinsterhood less appealing especially when Hunter arrives in town. However, family members think that Hunter is too far beneath her, since rumor has it he is a gunman and if that's not enough he owns a saloon! This historical romance features a marriage of convenience that slowly leads to the main characters revealing their true feelings.
Interspersed in Hunter and Tabitha's story we get an opportunity to catch up with all of the other couples from previous books and also set the stage for future stories. I imagine Jake will be the next to get a story and I eagerly await that one. And hopefully we'll even find out just why Jake's mother never revealed Jake's parentage. If you haven't read the earlier books in this series, I definitely recommend reading the books in order to really appreciate the series.
Aug 26, Cheryl rated it it was amazing. Delightful tale of opposites attract. The charming town of Logan Meadows comes to life once again in this latest Prairie Hearts novel. I have grown to love the characters in this town through the earlier books in this series. It is so fun to get another peek into their lives as I grow to know and love new characters who have joined the community.
Tabitha and Hunter have both found a special place in my heart. They are both fiercely independent but also lonely. They have reached a point in their Delightful tale of opposites attract. They have reached a point in their lives where they want companionship but don't know how to reach out to each other. Misunderstandings and rumors threaten to keep them apart. The twists and turns that finally brought them together kept me laughing and on the edge of my seat.
Someday I would like to go back and reread this whole series one right after another so I can remember the details about each character. In the meantime these books stand alone just fine. You don't have to start at the beginning of the series if you have not read the previous books. As always I look forward to the next story in this series!
Whispers on the Wind is the fifth book in the series. While it can be read as a stand alone title, I highly recommend that you read the series from the beginning. That way you can experience the true beauty of Logan Meadows and it's inhabitants. With each book we are introduced to new characters and get to revisit the ones we lost our hearts to in previous volumes. Caroline has a way of painting beautiful pictures with her words so it is impossible not to become emotionally invested in her characters' lives. I laughed and I cried and I felt my blood boil as I read this story. I was rooting for my favorites and shaking my head when some reverted back to their old ways. As always, from the very first page, I was on a roller coaster of emotions. I am looking forward to the next book in the series because I have so many questions that I am hoping will get answered.
I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review. Dec 17, Tonya Lucas rated it really liked it. Caroline Fyffe's Prairie Wind Series, is truly a fun and enjoyable series. Although I felt the 5th book in this series wasn't as fast paced and dramatic as the previous four books, I did enjoy it. Can't wait to read the final book to see what happens with everyone in Logan Meadows. One thing I truly love about this series, she has kept everyone from all the books still active in each new installment. A Rare Enduring Romance! I absolutely loved this part of the Prairie Hearts series, 'Whispers on the Wind'.
It was an enduring romance that lingered in my heart and mind for a while after reading this book. This wasn't just romantic, but it showed a time in our land where prejudicial situations happened on EVERY level. Yes, if you were a different race back in those days you were looked upon as being able to sell, but the more I read I also realized that woman were looked upon as no longer able t A Rare Enduring Romance!
Yes, if you were a different race back in those days you were looked upon as being able to sell, but the more I read I also realized that woman were looked upon as no longer able to marry if passed a very young age. That was a true prejudice. As well as a man who wasn't the exact look for ladies, who didn't ware the right clothing, who visited salons, was looked upon as being the wrong kind to marry for a woman. So like I said, the true romance was there, but the unsaid words about each other are such a disaster if each other doesn't speak the truth.
I loved it, I'm sorry if my review doesn't say a lot I don't like giving spoilers, but I truly recommend this beautiful story for everyone I felt right at home in Logan Meadows, Wyoming, with it's warm and lovable inhabitants. The heroine, Tabatha, a strong an independent woman for that time, refused to give in to all the attempts to have her give up her dream of a book store. When she meets the hero, Hunter, orphaned and raised by a wagon train master, he is a strong and handsome loner who has become a drifter, who finds a new home in Logan Meadows.
Theirs is a sweet and tender love story. The book addresses the problems of the 's that women had endure in their second class status, and the serious issue of prejudice toward immigrants who were different. Aug 28, Cynthia rated it it was amazing Shelves: romance-westerns , historical-romance. It did not take much for me to fall not only in love with this book but its characters. I was sucked in from the start with a plot you think you have it all worked out until this author throws a few major twists in your way giving romance a whole new meaning. You will be cheering Tabitha and Hunter on as they butt heads over and over again as they worm their way deep i It did not take much for me to fall not only in love with this book but its characters.
You will be cheering Tabitha and Hunter on as they butt heads over and over again as they worm their way deep into your heart. What you will find in this delightful story are bad guys, good guys, saloon, cowboys, saloon girls, friends, family some nice and some not so nice, lies, secrets, hard times, good times, a kidnapping, fights, gun fights, lovely name calling that will make you laugh and so much more as this author entertains you with her very talented writing.
The book you get your own feeling of it but the audio really comes alive.
I totally enjoyed both but I will let you decide. I loved John Glouchevitch as the narrator he has a strong male voice and brings many wonderful different voices. He has the right pitch for time in history to make you believe he really is each character. I did not hear any background noises just a very rich audio that pulled me in. There are not any places where the audio what louder or lower at the beginning of chapters which usually means a break was taken. If any breaks were taken you could not tell.
It was easy to hear each emotion that each character was feeling through his tones. You had to trouble knowing what each felt whether they were happy, sad or anger. His male voices were as nice as his female ones each given the right pitch as he takes you through each down fall or happy times. This is the first I have listened to this narrator, I am very much looking forward to letting me take me away to another place and time in the near future.
Tabitha is a woman after my own heart as she takes the bull by the horn going west to live her own life away from her controlling mother who has handpicked a man for her to marry. She finds what she is looking for in the wonderfully sweet town of Logan Meadows where her aunt and uncle live. She is happy that is as happy as a woman can be with no one to hold and love. She lives her life haves her business, family and wonderful friends around her. She is happy that is until one handsome stranger comes in town turning her world upside down making her mind of a husband and family.
Hunter is tired of moving around and wants to settle put some roots down the saloon is just what he needs. He takes one look at the beautiful Tabitha and wishes he could make her his own. Tempters rise and things get a little out of hand leaving Hunter with trying to make the best of it and dreaming about Tabitha. One thing leads to another and before you know the author throws some twist on you that will leave you smiling and a few with your mouth hung open. I loved the humor along with the true meaning of friendship, family and love the author brings to this story.
I really enjoyed the baiting back and forward between Tabitha and Hunter along with some other members of the town. It was a pleasure to get to see some of my old favorite characters and where they are in their life and what is new with them. There are some characters I came to like and then not like so much. I did have a few good laughs at her expense lol. I dearly loved Violet I would have loved to have been part of her family, she is a witty old women whose heart is as big at the moon. You want to stay on this woman good side for sure.
The way Tabitha and Hunters romance plays out is so delightful and refreshing. You are in for such a treat watching these two fight their attraction as they get into disagreements, and the mess they make they are having a hard time keeping their hands off each other. There is nothing worse than family sticking their nose in your life telling you what to do when you are 29 and fully able to run your own life. I love small towns where everyone knows everyone, they help each other giving so much back to the town and its people. The romance build up is slow and steady with a few twists.
This is a story you will forget you are reading as it takes over your mind pulling you in taking you away giving you smiles after smiles along with a few heart breaks. It was a book I could not put down I had to know how each twist would play out.
This is Mrs. Fyffe at her finest giving you a highly exciting entertaining read. I highly recommend any of her books or audios they are truly wonderful, humorous, exciting, thrilling, with a little danger and along with a lot of love she gives each one. Beautiful story Some say all romances are alike. I don't agree. An author who seems to read minds, who shows good people in odd situations and tries to teach us true right from wrong without "preaching" is a gem. People can change and grow.

It is wise never to value people with only one narrow point of view. Many gems are difficult to recognize if you've only seen them cut and polished. Another heartfelt journey. Carolyn Fyffe writes such beautiful stories. This is one of my favorites. I love that Tabitha and Hunter are older. His backstory is one I've never heard before. I feel like I live in this town because she makes all the characters seem real. God has given her a gift and she used it well!
Another great book in the series A few new characters were introduced in book 5 of the series. I love how the author takes characters and gives them so many layers of personality. A strong love story in the the book along with several storylines. Caroline Fyffe has a created another excellent book. I am happy I can start the next book tomorrow. Sep 26, Mary P. Wait for the right One Another good story based on the early settlers and a new life. The series is easily informative keeping the characters alive and adding drama and suspense as the story goes along.
As always, a relaxing read. Tabitha and Hunters story Love comes when we least expect it, and yet in the fullness of time. A wonderful story of heartache, longings, and things destined to be. Many twists and turns kept me reading. Keep them coming! The wind softly blows a sweet romance Believable!
Sometimes authors, while they write a good story, the story is not plausible. Thanks Caroline Fyffe for this 'happy ever after' storyline. The story whispers, 'it could have happened! Another light, enjoyable read This book left one small strand of the story hanging, which is the topic of the next book in the series. Thor confronts the Norns Fates , and severs the tapestry of Asgard's existence. After breaking the Ragnarok cycle and being advised by the Odinforce that this was his father's plan, Thor enters into hibernation.

The superhero community was split over this law, which led to conflict between the two sides. Furthermore, Iron Man , who became the de facto leader and public face of the pro-registration forces, hunted and imprisoned their mutual former comrades who had joined the anti-registration side, led by Captain America. Once free, The Serpent dispatches his generals known as the Worthy, each armed with magical uru hammers of their own, to descend the Earth into a state of fear. Although Thor and the Avengers manage to defeat the Serpent and his followers, Thor dies from the injuries he sustains during the battle. In the aftermath of the "Original Sin" storyline, Thor takes up the battle axe Jarnbjorn as a substitute for Mjolnir and subsequently loses his left arm in combat against Malekith the Accursed.
Meanwhile, an unidentified woman, later revealed as Jane Foster , lifts Mjolnir; taking possession of Thor's power. Thor Odinson continues his work as a superhero under the name "Odinson", using Jarnbjorn and a prosthetic arm made of black uru. Odinson ultimately turns down the opportunity to lift it and reveals to Beta Ray Bill that the words Nick Fury whispered to him were "Gorr was right", explaining that no god is worthy of mortal admiration.
After this an unknown individual, later revealed as Volstagg , picks up Ultimate Thor's hammer and calls himself "War Thor". During the " Secret Empire " storyline, Odinson is recruited by Steve Rogers — who is under the influence of Kobik , the sentient Cosmic Cube — into joining Hydra , but later sides with the resistance in their efforts to end Hydra's control over the United States. Thor possesses two items which assist him in combat: the enchanted Belt of Strength , and his signature weapon, the mystical hammer Mjolnir. The first item doubles Thor's strength and endurance while the second is used to control his weather abilities; flight; energy projection and absorption sufficient to reignite a dying star ; dimensional travel; matter manipulation, and the most powerful of his offensives, the God Blast which taps into Thor's life force, and has even forced Galactus to flee , the Thermo-blast, and the Anti-Force which counteracts another force.
